Last Modified: September 21, 2015

The Institute for Infectious Animal Diseases (IIAD) and The Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station (TEES), both components of The Texas A&M University System (TAMUS), are strongly committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy discloses the treatment of information provided or collected in connection with the use of the Dairy FARM Mobile application ("Application"). The terms and conditions established within this policy operate in conjunction with the Participation Agreement ("Agreement") required for joining into the National Dairy FARM Program.

Types of Information We Collect

As part of the National Dairy FARM Program (NDFP), we collect basic personally identifiable information ("PII") and other business sensitive information including: (a) account specific details; (b) information entered into the Evaluations for use in animal health reporting; (c) physical geographic location information to minimize data entry requirements; and (d) information to help support context/location specific alerts and notifications. A more detailed description of each category is as follows:

We may use the information you provided us to contact you from time to time to provide you with important information regarding the Application. Animal health information you input into the system will be used in accordance with the Agreement. By using the Application, you are consenting to our processing and storage of all provided information as set forth in this Privacy Policy and as defined in the Agreement.

How We Use Your Information

Data confidentiality is of upmost importance to TAMUS and the NDFP. Data provided into the system will be utilized only as defined in the Agreement.

Sharing Your Information with Other Third Parties

Data confidentiality is of upmost importance to TAMUS and the NDFP. Data provided into the system will only be shared as defined in the Agreement. The data fields to be shared, and with whom, are also both specified in the Agreement.

In certain circumstances that are beyond what is specifically stated in the Agreement, we may disclose user provided and collected information:

Your Controls and Choices

We provide you with controls and choices regarding the collection, use, and sharing of information by the Application. At any point in time, you may choose to stop participation in the program, and gathering of data, by simply uninstalling the Application. To do so, use the standard uninstall process as part of your mobile device or via the mobile application marketplace or network. This action will not disqualify you from further participation and benefits provided as part of NDFP, as the paper evaluation form is still viable alternative. Refer to the Agreement regarding program termination and data disposition.

You may also choose not to enable certain features within the Application. If you choose not to detect your physical geographic location or to receive push alerts/notifications, you can turn off these services for the Application. This option is located in your account settings or in your mobile device settings and/or within the Application.

Data Security, Integrity, and Retention

Data retention, sharing, and disposition will be governed in accordance with the Agreement. We are committed to safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. We provide physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect the information the Application transmits, processes, and retains. We limit access to this information to authorized individuals who have an approved need to know for that information. Please be aware that, although we implement the most current and rigid standards to provide security for information we transmit, process, and retain, no security system can prevent all security breaches. TAMUS makes no representation or warranty that the security system it utilizes will prevent a security breach, in whole or in part.

Children's Privacy

TAMUS is committed to protecting the safety and privacy of children using the Internet. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13 and believe that children should get their parents' or guardians' consent before giving out any personally identifiable information.

External Content

Components of the Application may contain links to external third-party websites, content, or other software tools/libraries. In such cases, the linked sites and services are not under the control of TAMUS. We are not responsible for the contents of any linked site or service or any link contained in a linked site or service, nor are we responsible for the privacy practices of the operators of those sites or services. All associated systems are housed on servers operated in the United States. If you are located outside of the United States, please be aware that information the Application collects will be processed and stored in the United States, a jurisdiction in which the data protection and privacy laws may not offer the same level of protection as those in the country where you reside or are a citizen. By using the Application and providing information to it, you consent to the transfer to and processing of the information in the United States.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

TAMUS and NDFP reserves the right to alter this Privacy Policy as program needs require. If we decide to change this Privacy Policy, changes will be posted here so that you will always know what information the Application gathers, how we might use that information, and whether we will disclose it to anyone. All changes to this policy will be posted on this site prior to the time they take effect.
